How do you get rid of forehead wrinkles – simple botox!
Well, yes but have you ever noticed women who get “cartoon lines “ above their lateral brows when they raise their brows or suddenly develop very low brows at rest?
This can be a side effect of botox. Not that the judicious use of botox does not have a role in reducing forehead lines, it does.
In our opinion it is important to keep the dermis nice and thick and juicy, so that movement from the underlying frontalis muscle does not make furrows in the surface skin. Every 10 years from the 3rd decade you lose a teaspoon of collagen in the face.
There are lots of ways to increase the collagen such as platelet rich plasma, dermaneedling, radiofrequency, photodynamic therapy and also laser. Sometimes filler is used in the temple which does have rejuvenating effect, however intravascular injections around the eye can cause blindness. There is a move back to using threads for brow lifts, however, we feel the jury is out at this stage regarding how effective threads are in improving forehead lines.
Of course reducing the effects of UV in causing forehead lines by using daily topical sunscreen, antioxidant and DNA repair enzyme is a great start. You should also be mindful of how you are maintaining your collagen (see suggestions above) and lastly the judicious use of a few units of that much loved stuff called botox.
